Step inside our Salt Lake City workshop and discover how master artisans transform raw materials into extraordinary lighting. This immersive tour offers a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship, innovation, and artistry behind every Hammerton creation.

Hot Glass Production
Each week, the Hammerton hot glass shop fabricates over seven tons of the highest quality Swedish crystal glass known for its clarity and refractive qualities. Our highly skilled team of 25+ hot glass artisans melt this glass in large furnaces to temperatures above 2,000℉, and then blow and cast the molten glass into visually intriguing shapes. Most Hammerton Studio glass designs reflect the combined talents of our glass and metal fabrication teams since we design, engineer, and fabricate all our glass jigs and tooling in-house. This has allowed us to create unusual geometric and organic designs that simply can’t be found anywhere else.

Warm Glass Production
Our industrious team of warm glass artisans are tasked with forming and slumping hundreds of sheets of glass each week in large kilns, incorporating textures, shapes, and visual interest by fusing multiple pieces of glass or melting them into a mold. The process is called ‘warm glass’ because it requires temperatures below 1400℉. By comparison, the ‘hot glass’ used in glass blowing and casting involves temperatures well above 2000℉.

Metal Fabrication
Since 1995, Hammerton has been known for world class metal craftmanship. Collectively, our talented artisan fabricators represent well over a century of experience at Hammerton welding, cutting, bending, and manufacturing each exquisite metal piece that travels from our shop. These magnificent works of art eventually illuminate leading hotels and restaurants, luxury resorts and casinos, corporate headquarters, private clubs and some of the most beautiful homes in North America.
With almost 30 years of experience as a leading domestic custom lighting manufacturer, we are proven experts in what it takes to be successful — not only in design and execution, but also in delivering an exceptional customer experience.
