Hammerton Residential Lifetime Limited Warranty
Hammerton, Inc. offers a Lifetime Limited Warranty on its products when installed in residential applications as described below. Warranty terms only apply to the contiguous 48 States and Canada. Certain exclusions apply. Read below for more details.
Lifetime Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that its products within Hammerton Studio, Hammerton Signature, Hammerton Heritage, and Custom Products are free from defects in workmanship and materials.
This warranty applies for the lifetime of the original purchaser, provided the fixture remains installed at the original residential address. Should any covered product fail, Hammerton, through a Hammerton Authorized Dealer or directly, will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the product with the same or a similar product free of charge, or refund the purchase price.
Metallic Finishes: Metallic Finishes (Graphite, Classic Silver, Burnished Bronze, Novel Brass, Matte Black, Beige Silver, Flat Bronze, and Gilded Brass) are covered under the Lifetime Limited Warranty. Handmade variations in finish are normal and are not considered defects. Living finishes (including brass, iron, copper, and nickel) are not warranted against color change, patina, or finish inconsistency, as maturation is an inherent and intended characteristic of these materials.
Glass Components: Hammerton hand-blows its own glass and all glass components are covered under this Lifetime Limited Warranty for manufacturing defects. Hand-blown glass may inherently contain small lines, waves, or bubbles. Natural variations in dimensions, color, or finish are normal characteristics of handmade glass and are not considered defects.
The Lifetime Limited Warranty does not apply to electrical components, certain finishes and materials, Hammerton Heritage Outdoor and Custom Outdoor products, or to any Hammerton products installed at commercial locations. Read below for more details.
5-Year Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that the following components and parts within Hammerton Studio, Hammerton Signature, Hammerton Heritage, and Custom Products are free from defects in workmanship and materials for five (5) years.
LED Drivers and LED Boards: LED drivers and LED boards are warranted for five (5) years under normal use. A reduction in light output of less than 30% over this period is considered normal and is not covered.
Electrical and Articulating Components: Sockets, ballasts, drivers, integrated LED components, transformers, dimmers, swing arms, and swivels are warranted for five (5) years.
Ceramics: Ceramic materials are covered under the 5-Year Limited Warranty. Ceramic finishes are covered under the 2-Year Limited Warranty.
Finishes
Translucent Finishes: Translucent Finishes (including Catalog and Custom) are covered under the 5-Year Limited Warranty. Translucent Finishes of any kind are not warranted for products installed within ten (10) miles of a seacoast or in wet or damp locations, whether such installations are indoors or outdoors.
Custom Finishes & Mottled Finishes: Custom Finishes and Mottled Finishes are covered under the 5-Year Limited Warranty.
Handmade variations in finishes are normal and are not considered defects. Living finishes (including brass, iron, copper, and nickel) are not warranted against color change, patina, or finish inconsistency, as maturation is an inherent and intended characteristic of these materials.
2-Year Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that secondary and motif materials including Mica, Rawhide, Stone, and Architectural Surface Materials like Leather, Fabric, and Wood are free from defects in workmanship and materials for two (2) years.
Outdoor Warranty
Outdoor Lifetime Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that its outdoor fixtures are rated AAMA 2604 and are covered under the Lifetime Limited Warranty. This warranty also includes outdoor fixtures installed within ten (10) miles of a seacoast.
Handmade variations in finish are normal and are not considered defects. Some level of oxidation is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered. Color change, patina, or finish inconsistency, as maturation is an inherent and intended characteristic of these materials. Fading, discoloration, or patina on outdoor fixtures resulting from prolonged exposure to sunlight, humidity, pollutants, salt spray, or other environmental conditions are not covered.
Outdoor 5-Year Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that Hammerton Heritage Outdoor and Custom Outdoor products are covered under the 5-Year Limited Warranty.
Handmade variations in finish are normal and are not considered defects. Some level of oxidation is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered. Color change, patina, or finish inconsistency, as maturation is an inherent and intended characteristic of these materials. Fading, discoloration, or patina on outdoor fixtures resulting from prolonged exposure to sunlight, humidity, pollutants, salt spray, or other environmental conditions are not covered.
Other Components
Light bulbs (lamps) are not warranted. They are not products manufactured by Hammerton and are supplied only as a service.
Warranty Eligibility
The warranty details outline above are extended to the original purchaser of the Hammerton product only, provided the fixture remains installed at the original address. This warranty is non-transferable and is void upon any change of ownership or relocation of the fixture from its original installation address.
No formal registration is required to activate each applicable warranty. Proof of purchase from a Hammerton Authorized Dealer is required to initiate any warranty claim. This warranty applies only to Hammerton products purchased directly from Hammerton or from a Hammerton Authorized Dealer. Warranty coverage is void for products purchased from unauthorized dealers. A list of Authorized Dealers is available on Hammerton’s website. This warranty is valid only in the contiguous 48 States and Canada.
Warranty Procedures and Conditions
To obtain warranty service, contact the Authorized Hammerton Dealer from which you purchased the product. If you are unable to obtain service from the Authorized Dealer, contact Hammerton directly to request a warranty claim form. Any replaced or repaired product is warranted for ninety (90) days from the date of shipment of the replacement or repaired product, or through the end of the applicable original warranty period, whichever is longer. All replaced products or parts become the property of Hammerton.
Labor costs for the original installation, removal, re-installation, or inspection of any product are not covered by this warranty. Hammerton does not pay or reimburse electrician or installation fees.
Exclusions
This warranty does not apply to, and Hammerton shall have no liability for, damage or failure caused by or arising from:
- Ordinary wear and tear, including normal fading or aging;
- Accident, misuse, neglect, or lack of reasonable care;
- Water damage, flooding, or fire;
- Force majeure events, including but not limited to earthquake, explosion, or other natural disasters;
- Improper installation, improper lamping, improper input voltage, or improper dimming;
- Altering or use of non-Hammerton hardware or components;
- Unauthorized alteration, modification, tampering, or repair;
- Shipping or assembly damage;
- Natural material variation, including handmade glass characteristics such as bubbles, waves, or lines;
- Living finish patina, color change, or finish inconsistency on brass, iron, copper, or nickel;
- Outdoor environmental changes including prolonged exposure to sunlight, humidity, pollutants, or wind;
- Coastal corrosion beyond the applicable coastal warranty period;
- Unintended use of the product;
- Use of the product with components, accessories, dimmers, or systems not specified or approved by Hammerton; or
- Non-AAMA-rated outdoor finishes.
Any modification, tampering, or unauthorized repair to any Hammerton product after delivery voids this warranty with respect to the affected product or component.
Warranties Are Exclusive and Limitation of Liability
HAMMERTON EXCLUDES AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE ARISING OUT OF THE SALE, INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE, USE, OR FAILURE OF ANY HAMMERTON PRODUCT, EVEN IF HAMMERTON HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN ALL EVENTS, HAMMERTON’S LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT OR A REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID, AT HAMMERTON’S SOLE OPTION.

Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that its products within Hammerton Studio, Hammerton Signature, Hammerton Heritage, and Custom Products are free from defects in workmanship and materials. This warranty covers the complete factory-built fixture.
This warranty only applies to the original purchaser, provided the fixture remains installed at the original commercial address. Should any covered product fail, Hammerton, through a Hammerton Authorized Dealer or directly, will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the product with the same or a similar product free of charge, or refund the purchase price.
Finishes
Metallic Finishes: Metallic Finishes (Graphite, Classic Silver, Burnished Bronze, Novel Brass, Matte Black, Beige Silver, Flat Bronze, and Gilded Brass) are covered under the 2-Year Limited Warranty.

Viro 5-Year Limited Warranty
Hammerton, Inc. offers a Five-Year Limited Warranty on its Viro products as described below. Certain Viro components are covered by a Two-Year Limited Warranty as described below.
5-Year Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that its products are free of defects in material or workmanship for the period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, for residential use only.
With the exceptions and the conditions stated below, should your Viro product fail during the 5-Year Warranty Period, Hammerton will either repair or replace it with the same or a similar product free of charge or will refund the purchase price to you at our sole discretion.
2-Year Limited Warranty
Hammerton warrants to the original purchaser that its Viro Fluted Bulbs are free of defects in material or workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, for residential use only. Should your Viro Fluted Bulbs fail during the 2-Year Warranty Period, Hammerton will replace it with the same or a similar product free of charge at our sole discretion.
All other light bulbs sold by Hammerton are not covered by this warranty. They are not products manufactured by Hammerton and are supplied only as a service.
Warranty Procedures and Conditions
In order to obtain warranty service, you must contact Hammerton to request a warranty claim form. Hammerton will determine if the product should be inspected on site or returned to Hammerton for inspection. Hammerton warrants any replaced or repaired products for ninety (90) days after shipment or through the end of the applicable warranty period, whichever is longer. All products or parts that are replaced become the property of Hammerton.
The warranties set forth above:
- Do not apply to ordinary wear and tear.
- Do not apply to damage caused by accident, lack of reasonable care, water damage, or improper installation or improper lamping, alteration or abuse.
- Do not apply to force majeure events, including but not limited to earthquake, explosion, or other natural disasters;
- Apply only to Viro products purchased directly from Hammerton or from a Hammerton Authorized Dealer. Proof of purchase from Hammerton or a Hammerton Authorized Dealer is required to initiate any warranty claim.
- Are valid only for the original purchaser and are non-transferrable.
- Are valid only in the United States and Canada.
